This blog is for introducing some of the interesting parts of Korean culture for foreigners. These days parts of Korean culture can be seen everywhere in the world. In 2019 Parasite (기생충) and in 2021, Squid Game (오징어게임) were so popular. Other parts of Korean culture like music (K-Pop, K-R&B, K-Indie, K-Hip-Hop and Korean Ballads) and food are also becoming more and more popular outside of the eastern part of the world.
This blog is going to showcase different parts of Korean culture that may give a bit of culture shock to foreigners. Some of these topics may include language honorifics (존댓말), how Korean’s age is counted differently, food delivery systems, toilet paper (wait to be surprised…), and special occasion food.
This blog aims to provide an honest and truthful perspective about things that if you were not raised or born into the Korean culture, you would not know. If you are not shocked by these things, you must be a Korean! This blog hopes that when you learn about these parts of Korean culture, you get inspired to do your own research into Korea.
